Chainsaw Wielding Aggressor Booked on Assault Charges, Again

Huntsville, TN (2018-01-29) A man that authorities say used a chain saw in the commission of a domestic assault last June has been arrested on assault charges again.

Harry G. Dilts

Harry G. Dilts, 38, of Oneida was booked into the Scott County Jail Friday after authorities say he assaulted his estranged wife in a domestic argument early last Thursday morning.  Dilts is accused of strangling the victim and causing physical harm to her and the couple’s children.

Authorities say Dilts entered his former home around 3:30 a.m. on January 25, 2018 and attacked the victim while she was in bed.  He is accused of dragging her from the bedroom and the couple struggled outside the home for several minutes before the victim was able to calm her aggressor.  Once back inside the home, Dilts is accused of destroying an antique stereo, and punching a hole in the kitchen wall.  At one point, Dilts allegedly threatened to burn down the house.

The argument turned physical again after Dilts reportedly attempted to take the victim’s cell phone.  As they struggled, the couple’s children reportedly attempted to intervene, resulting in two of them sustaining minor bruising.

Dilts was arrested last June in a similar incident, when authorities say he used a chain saw to cut through the bedroom door to get to his victim.

Dilts was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment (three counts), and vandalism of less than $500.
