Spring Floods Result In Disaster Declaration For Scott

Washington, D.C. (2011-03-31) The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Craig Fugate announced today that federal aid is available to the state of Tennessee to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding during the period of February 28 to March 1, 2011.  Scott County is included in the declaration.  [ Read More ]

Scott Ranks 59th In Health Outcomes In Tennessee

Madison, Wisconsin and Princeton, N.J. (2011-03-30) Williamson County continues to have the healthiest residents in Tennessee, while Benton County is the least healthy county in the state, according to the annual County Health Rankings, released today by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  ScottCounty ranked 59th out of the state’s 95 counties.   In comparison, Campbell and Fentress Counties ranked 92nd and 93rd in the annual report.  [ Read More ]
