June Unemployment Rate 10.1 Percent

Nashville, TN (2010-07-15) Tennessee Commissioner of Labor & Workforce Development James Neeley announced today Tennessee’s unemployment rate for June was 10.1 percent, down three-tenths of a percentage point from the May rate of 10.4 percent. The June 2009 rate was 10.9 percent. The national unemployment rate for June 2010 was 9.5 percent, down 0.2 percentage point from the May rate of 9.7 percent. [ Read More ]

Rugby Bypass Approved

Nashville, TN (2010-07-07) State Senator Ken Yager announced today that the State Route 52 Rugby Bypass project has been approved and is included in the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) three-year road construction program. Construction funding was appropriated by the General Assembly as part of the state budget adopted in June.  The three-year program will provide construction funding for the bypass that will extend from Brewstertown Road to the Scott County line. Tenncare Receives Federal Approval For Hospital Assessment Fee
