Million Mom March Planned In Huntsville On September 11

 

            Huntsville, TN (2011-09-06) On Sunday, September 11, 2011, mothers from near and far and urged to participate in the Million Mom March, an event to honor the memory of the those that perished in the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington, those who died in the plane crash in Pennsylvania, and to bring awareness to the plight of our county and country.

            On the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the Scott Christian Care Center, Michael’s Mission and the Family Justice Center of Knoxville will host a three-mile walk to honor the memory of those lost in the tragic events 9/11, while also taking the anniversary of the observance to call local women to action and bring about change through prayerful vigilance and service.

            “With greater freedom comes even greater responsibility,” commented event spokeswoman Judy Liming.  “We’re asking women to walk the three-mile stretch between the old Scott County Courthouse in Huntsville and the new Justice Center,” Liming added.  The walk is symbolic of going from the old to the new in every aspect of our lives. 

            The walk will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a short opening ceremony at the courthouse.  Entrants are not required to preregister and should begin arriving no later than 1:30 p.m.
