Miller Crowned Miss Scott County

 

Oneida, TN (2011-08-27) Seventeen year old Madeline Nicole Miller was crowned as 2011 Miss Scott County Fairest of the Fair at the Scott County Fair Saturday night.

Madeline, the 17-year-old daughter of Greg Miller and Melinda Miller of Oneida, was chosen from a field of 16 contestants Saturday night to be crowned Miss Scott County at the 85th Annual Scott County Fair.  A senior at Oneida High School, Madeline enjoys swimming, riding her four-wheeler, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys going to church, writing, listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with her friends.  Madeline hopes to graduate from high school and attend East Tennessee State University and pursue a career in the pharmaceutical field.  She was sponsored by Miller’s Lawn Care.

First runner up to the title Saturday night was Bryce Demita Terry, the 17-year-old daughter of Michelle and Randy Terry of Robbins.  A senior at Scott High School, Bryce’s interests include competitive cheerleading, playing the guitar, being with friends, running cross country, and track.  Bryce would like to attend Tennessee Technological University majoring in pre-law. Then, go on to law school, and later become a successful advocate. Bryce was sponsored by Michelle’s Pageant and Prom Fashions.

Second runner-up to Miss Scott County was Haleigh Raven Crabtree, the 17-year-old daughter of Keith and Teresa Crabtree of Oneida. Haleigh, also a senior at Oneida High School, enjoys cheerleading, playing softball, and shopping. As with most teenagers, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, going riding on the weekends, and spending time with her niece Monroe and other family members. Her future plans include graduating from High School, going to college to become a dental hygienist, and working with her brother-in-law Caleb one day. Haleigh was sponsored by Miller Concrete Products.

Katelin Brooke Lewis, the 20-year-old daughter of Daphne and Matt Lewis, was chosen as Miss Congeniality by her peers in the pageant. Katelin is a volunteer firefighter with the East 63 Volunteer Fire Department, where she serves as a Lieutenant. She also enjoys volunteering, and helping to raise money for various causes. Along with fishing and hunting, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her goals and reams include graduating from Roane State Community College with a 4.0 GPA this year, and moving on to Tennessee Technological University to receive her teaching degree. Katelin was sponsored by First Trust and Savings Bank – Main Office.

Contestants making the top five were: Shelby Burchfield, the 20-year-old daughter of Scott and Bridget Burchfield, and McKala Ryann Clark, the 16-year-old daughter on Crystal Lowe, Alexis Lowe, and Ryan Clark.

Rounding out the top ten were:  Brooke Carson, the 16-year-old daughter of Stasha Strunk and Denny Carson, Karrington Leigh Foster, the 18-year-old daughter of Jeff Foster and Devonda Foster, Cindel Sue LeeAnn Owens, the 17-year-old daughter of Teresa and Randy Cooper and Paul and April Owens, Peyton Phillips, the 18-year-old daughter of Trent and Mickie Phillips, and Katelin Brooke Lewis.
