Workshop To Assist Veterans Planned

 

            Huntsville, TN (2011-08-17) On Saturday, August 27, 2011, local veterans, their widows, and families will have the opportunity to receive assistance with filing claims and other forms during a outreach workshop at the Scott County Office Building in Huntsville.

            Scott County Veterans Service Officer Ron Keeton, along with the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs, will host an outreach workshop for local veterans on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Scott County Office Building in Huntsville.  During the workshop, veterans, their widows and family members will have the chance to discuss veteran’s issues, file claims, and ask question regarding veteran assistance programs, including service connected disability, non-service connected benefits, health care benefits, burial benefits, survivors’ benefits, education benefits, and herbicide exposure benefits for veterans exposed to Agent Orange.

            Persons wishing to file claims should bring all pertinent information, including: DD-214 or discharge papers, death certificate, marriage certificate/divorce decrees; and doctor’s diagnosis.

            The workshop will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Scott County Office Building, which is located at 2845 Baker Highway, Huntsville.  For more information, you may contact Mr. Keeton at (423) 663-4289.
