Cordell Man Arrested For Making Meth—Again

Huntsville, TN (2011-07-11) Just a week after being arrested by local authorities for making methamphetamine near his home, a Cordell community man has been arrested again for making the illegal drug.  Four other suspects have also been charged in connection with the meth lab.

Stacy Harness, 35, of the Straight Fork area was arrested last Thursday by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, as he, along with four other suspects, were actively involved in cooking methamphetamine near the river in the Cordell community.  According to an arrest warrant filed by Drug Agent Kris Lewallen of the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Harness, along with four other suspects, identified as Harvey Lee Day, 36, Donald R. Lay, 29 and Chris S. Byrd, 33, both of Pioneer, and Jonathan Silcox, 31, of the Straight Fork Community were arrested in connection with the meth lab.

Harness, along with the other suspects, was charged with initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Day, who was allegedly found in the possession of marijuana, was also charged with simple possession of marijuana.  Byrd was also allegedly in possession of several needles.

On June 28, 2011, authorities reportedly found meth-making materials in a camper trailer near Harness’ home.  Harness fled the scene; however, he was captured a couple days later in Anderson County.
