Date For Interviewing Finalists For County Director Of Schools Job Changed

           

Huntsville, TN (2011-04-20) The date for interviewing the three finalists for the Scott County Director of Schools job have been changed to accommodate one of the applicants.  Interviews will now be held in early May.

            According to Scott County School Board Chairman Jim Sexton, interviews with the three finalists for the Director of Schools job have been changed to Monday, May 2, 2011.  Originally, the interviews were scheduled for April 28, 2011.  Interviews are still scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

            On April 14, 2011, the Scott County Board of Education agreed to narrow the field of potential candidates for the Director of School position to three, eliminating all out-of-town applicants.  After a series of votes on each candidate, the Board voted unanimously to interview the three local candidates, Huntsville Middle School Principal LaMance Bryant, Scott High School Principal Bill Hall, and Burchfield Elementary School Principal Randy Shelton.

            Candidates eliminated in the process were Dr. Roger Terry, the current Supervisor of Operations and Curriculum Specialists for the Clinton City School System; Dr. Joseph A. Miller, Assistant Principal of Sunbright High School; and Arthur Politz, a retired educator from Jasonville, IN.

            The Board of Education is expected to hire a new Director during a special-called meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the system’s central office in Huntsville.
