Taking Drugs From Hospital Pharmacy
Oneida, TN (2011-04-05) An employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center of Scott County has been arrested for allegedly taking prescription medications from the hospital’s pharmacy.

According to an arrest warrant filed by Officer Blake Murphy of the Oneida Police Department, Prewitt allegedly took drugs from the hospital pharmacy on two occasions; once on March 30, 2011 and again on March 31, 2011. On March 30th, Prewitt allegedly signed into the facility’s electronic medication distribution system multiple times and took prescription medications. A subsequent check of patient medical records reportedly revealed the medications were never given to the intended recipients. The following day, Prewitt allegedly obtained medication from the distribution system in the name of a patient that had already been released from the facility.
Over the course of the two day period, Prewitt allegedly entered the system on at least ten different occasions to withdraw medication.
Prewitt was charged with theft of under $500 (10 counts) and obtaining controlled substances by fraud (10 counts).
