Huntsville Woman Dies In Three Vehicle Crash In Campbell County

Pioneer, TN (2011-03-29) A three vehicle accident in Campbell County has claimed the life of a Huntsville woman.

Jennifer Sharpe, 47, of Huntsville was reportedly killed in a three vehicle traffic crash on S.R. 63 near the Scott / Campbell County line Tuesday afternoon.  Sharpe was reportedly a passenger in a westbound 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that swerved to avoid striking an oncoming car that had reportedly drifted into the SUV’s lane.  Cameron J. Cabbage, 22, of Oneida, the driver of a 1996 Honda Accord, was reportedly eastbound on S.R. 63 near its intersection with S.R. 297, when he allegedly drifted into the westbound lane.  Bobby G. Sharpe, 54, of Huntsville, driver of the SUV, reportedly swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid a collision with Cabbage’s car.  As result, Sharpe’s SUV reportedly clipped a 1996 Ford Econoline van in the eastbound lane.  After impacting the van, the SUV reported left the roadway, went into a ditch, struck and embankment and overturned.

Bobby Sharpe, and another passenger in the vehicle, identified as Robby Sharpe, 15, were both injured.  Both were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the van, Jack A. Barker, 63, of Kingston, was also injured.  He was also restrained in the vehicle.

Cabbage was reportedly uninjured in the accident.

Given the remoteness of the accident scene, emergency responders from both Scott and Campbell Counties were dispatched to the location.

Trooper Aaron Evans of the Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of the accident investigation.
