CASA’s 5th Annual Penguin Plunge Saturday At Oneida City Park

Oneida, TN (2011-03-03) Court Appointed Special Advocates of the Tennessee Heartland (CASA) advocates for abused and neglected children.  However, this weekend they will be making a splash of a different kind.

The 5th Annual Penguin Plunge will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Oneida City Park, as human penguin will jump into the chilly waters of the Oneida City Park Lake to raise money for CASA.  Registration will be from 12:00 noon until 12:45 PM at the gazebo nearest the boat ramp, which is located behind the park community center building and swimming pool. There will also be a silent auction which will run the same time line as the registration.  The actual plunge will begin around 1:00 PM.  Refreshments will be available.  Whether you plunge or not, bring the family out for a fun filled day at the park and support a worthwhile cause.

Sponsors for this year’s Penguin Plunge include El Rey’s Mexican Restaurant, First National Bank, Oneida Kiwanis Club, First Trust & Savings Bank, Citizens First Bank, Mark Strange (Attorney-at-Law), People’s Bank of the South, Choice Transport and Grand Vista.  All proceeds raised from CASA’s Penguin Plunge will be used to ensure that the abused and neglected children of our community continue to have a CASA volunteer advocating for their best interest.
