Scott County Pair Accused Of Stealing Cash and Gold

Huntsville, TN (2011-02-01) Two Scott County men face criminal charges following investigations into three separate home burglaries.

Richard Devon Reynolds and Jason R. Emmons, both 25, were arrested last week after investigators with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department allegedly linked the pair to a trio of home burglaries.

According to an arrested warrant filed by Detective Tommy Silcox, Reynolds allegedly entered a home on January 17, 2011, where authorities claim he took several pieces of jewelry.  After the burglary, authorities allege Reynolds took the stolen goods to Emmons, whom he owned money.  Emmons allegedly accepted the stolen property as payment, and later sold the items to a local gold broker.

Furthermore, authorities claim Emmons, who had been living in the Straight Fork community, allegedly took cash and jewelry from a home on Nelson Lane.  The cash, stated authorities, was the homeowner’s young son’s birthday money.  Emmon reportedly denied taking the goods, claiming the jewelry belong to his girlfriend’s mother.

Upon further investigation, authorities allegedly linked Reynolds to a similar crime in August 2010.  In that burglary, the perpetrator allegedly stole a ring from the homeowner and pawned it.

Reynolds was charged with aggravated burglary (two counts), theft of more than $1,000 and theft of more than $500.  Emmons was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of over $500.
