Trio Charged With Auto Burglary
Oneida, TN
(2011-01-24) Three Scott County
men face burglary and theft charges following an auto burglary at an Oneida business.
Kody L. Terry, 21, of the Cherry Fork community, and Daniel
Green, 25, and Michael J. Foster, 24, both of Winfield were arrested earlier
this month following an investigation by the Oneida Police Department into an
auto burglary at a south Oneida business.
According
to arrest warrants from the Oneida Police Department, Terry allegedly asked
Foster, who had picked him up at his Cherry Fork home, to stop at Blakely’s
Auto Sales in south Oneida
on Friday, January 14, 2011. After
pulling into the business, Terry allegedly used a metal pulley to shatter the
window of a pickup truck in the parking lot.
After gaining entry, Terry allegedly stole a .45 caliber handgun and
about $60 in cash. Terry, stated one
warrant, claimed Foster was the person who actually broke into the vehicle;
however, both reportedly admitted involvement.
Upon
further investigation, Oneida
authorities learned that Green, an employee of the business, was allegedly
involved in the theft. While detailing
the victim’s truck, Green, stated the warrant, discovered
the pistol and cash in the center console.
Authorities claim Green shared that information with Foster and Terry.
On
January 15, 2011, Green allegedly transported Terry to his Cherry Fork home,
where he retrieved the weapon. The pair
allegedly traveled to Summit Drive
in Oneida, where
Terry allegedly tossed the weapon to get rid of the evidence. Green, stated authorities, was the person who
originally reported the crime.
The
trio was charged with auto burglary, theft of over $500 and vandalism of over
$500.
