Gary Wendell Foster, age 65, departed this life on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born May 18, 1954, he is the son of the late Arthur Foster and Edith Payne Foster. He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.
Gary worked for Plateau Electric for 44 years, and loved his work family. He loved his grandkids so much. On Sundays he would sit outside and swing the babies while he watched the other grandkids play.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by grandsons, Jonah and Josiah Cotton.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tammy Foster; mother, Edith Payne Foster; children, Jonathan Cotton and wife McKelia, Chris Cotton and fiancé Jessica Hale; grandchildren, Shaya Cotton, Jace Cotton, Haven Cotton, Aleighana Cotton, Zoey Cotton, Liam Cotton, Caleb Cotton; sisters, Shawna Bertram and husband Jack, Nona Baird Glendale, Arizona;
Glenna Shelton, Knoxville,Tennessee brothers, Larry and wife Nancy Foster of Clinton, TN., John and wife Deidre Foster of Charlotte, NC.; brother in law, Tim Baird of Clinton, TN; mother and father in law, Lou Nova and Louise Sexton; mother of Zoey and Aleighana Cotton, Merita Bennett; several nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with Bro. Jeff Davis and Bro. Larry Foster officiating. Music will be provided by Lou Nova Sexton, Carletta Thomas, Claudette Smith and Claudia Tilliman. Graveside service will be on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.
