Auctioneer Passes Away

A well known auctioneer and all around popular man in Campbell and Scott County has passed away.

Sterling Haskel “Hack” Ayers passed away Wednesday, January 8th. He was 83 years

of age.

Hack’s daughter Traci and J. J. Bower operates  Ayers Auction and Real Estate in

Oneida, while Hack and his wife Tomi operated the LaFollette Real Estate Office.

Hack authored a book entitled “Hills, Deals, and Stills” covering his history. The book

is available on Amazon.

He was an Auctioneer, Realtor, Hotelier, County Court Clerk, 2 term State Representative, National Auctioneers Associating Past President and Hall of Fame Member, Tennessee Auctioneers Association Past President and Hall of Fame Member, a Rotarian, Gideon, member of Story Teller’s Club, and unofficial Historian of Campbell

County.

Haskel Hack Ayers started in the 1960’s with Hack Bargain Barn in LaFollette.

He was a member and strong Church of God of Lafollette supporter.
