Winfield Man Charged with Alleged Drug Possession

On November 13th, Oneida Police Officer Tony Jones witnessed a black Chevy S10 driving on Main Street in Oneida without a registration light.  Officer Jones conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Blue Ridge Drive and spoke with the driver, identified as William Lawson.  Upon speaking with Lawson, he stated he did not have a valid driver’s license.  Officer Jones, upon checking vehicle registration, discovered that the vehicle did not have a valid registration or insurance.  Lawson did alert Officer Jones to a syringe hidden inside the vehicle and a search was conducted.  Upon search, a white suboxone package, unopened, was located in his wallet.  Lawson was arrested and charged with Violation of Light Law, Violation of Financial Responsibility, Violation of Registration Law, Driving on a Suspended License, and Possession of a Schedule III Drug.  He was transported to the Scott County Justice Center for booking.
