On November 14th, Sgt. Toby Jeffers, with the Oneida Police Department, conducted a traffic stop on a gray Chevy Impala for a registration violation on Sandcut Road. Sgt. Jeffers spoke with the driver, identified as Jesse Perry, passenger Amanda Garrett, and rear passenger Curstin Butler and advised them of the reason for the stop. Sgt. Jeffers asked Perry for consent to search the vehicle and consent was given. Sgt. Jeffers asked all occupants to exit the vehicle, then located in Garrett’s purse several syringes and three drug spoons with soboxone on all three spoons. Sgt. Jeffers then located in the back of the passenger seat a pill bottle containing five white pills, the pill bottle did not have information on it. Butler was asked about the pills and she stated they were hers and it was suboxone. Sgt. Jeffers then began to search the trunk of the vehicle and located in a tool bag a baggie containing approximately six grams of meth. Garrett was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Schedule III Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Butler was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Schedule III Drug and Violation of Probation Warrant.
