It’s time once again for the official kick-off to Christmas in Scott County with the 71st annual Scot County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.
“As always, we are excited to host this event. The parade is a time for the community to come together, celebrate the season, and shop local,” said Stacey Swann, Executive Director of the Scott County Chamber of Commerce. With the deadline past, the organization has received a near-record number of entries for this year’s parade, which will boast at least seventeen beautifully decorated floats. In addition to floats, the parade will feature a host of entries for civic, not-for-profit, and youth organizations, beauty pageant winners, antique cars, trucks, and tractors, emergency response vehicles, and of course, Santa Claus.
The 71st annual Scott County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 7th. It will step off at 2:00 p.m. The parade will begin at the HBD parking lot, turn left on Industrial Lane, and the left again onto Alberta Street. The parade will follow Alberta Street north to traffic light #5, where it will turn right onto Claude Terry Drive. All entries will continue to Oneida Elementary School, where the parade will disband in the parking lot.
In the event of rain, the parade will be held Sunday, December 8th, at 3:00 p.m.
