Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Oneida/Huntsville’s President Dwight Murphy is pleased to announce that Jordan Watson has received the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Oneida/Huntsville SOAR 2019 Student Excellence Award. President Murphy states, “Jordan Watson is a student with a great work ethic and a strong desire to learn collision repair skills. Career opportunities abound for students who excel like Jordan.” Jordan was chosen by a business and industrial panel from among ten post-secondary students nominated by TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville instructors. He is currently enrolled in the Collision Repair Technology program. Comments by his Collision Repair Technology instructor Wayne Todd, “Jordan is a student who shows up for class earlier than required and works extremely hard. Not only does he arrive early, but also he stays late working on the college’s work study program. Jordan always has a wonderful positive attitude and works diligently on his projects. I enjoy seeing his continued growth in the collision repair field. In February 2019, he began college and started preparing for the SkillsUSA state competition in which he won the silver medal in Automotive Computer Estimating and Total Loss Evaluation. As his instructor, I would like to congratulate Jordan for winning this special award.” Jordan remarks, “TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville is a great college to attend; and in the eight months I have been a student, I’ve learned a tremendous amount in the collision repair field.”
Jordan will compete with eight other colleges’ student excellent award winners for the East Tennessee Regional title in November 2019. The regional winner will then compete for the state title in March 2020. Workforce development; it’s what we do.
