Oneida Woman Charged with Alleged Theft

On September 16th, Officer Toby Jeffers, with the Oneida Police Department, was dispatched to the Dollar General Store in Oneida for a shoplifter.  Upon arrival, the manager of the store came to Officer Jeffers’ unit and stated that the female had run across the road to the railroad tracks.  Officer Jeffers headed to the top of the embankment and heard someone coming up.  Officers caught the female, identified as Casey Terry, then escorted her back to the store and placed her in the patrol unit.  Officer Jeffers spoke again with the manager and he stated he observed Terry walk out the door and the alarm went off.  He also stated he told Terry to stop and she threw several items under a vehicle and took off running across the road.  Terry also had in her purse several items she had taken from the store without paying.  She was arrested and charged with Theft Under $1,000
