Helenwood Woman Charged with Alleged Theft

On September 11th, Officer Toby Jeffers, with the Oneida Police Department, was contacted by Wal-Mart Loss Prevention.  It was stated there was a female in the store that had been “skip scanning” items at the self checkout.  Upon Officer Jeffers’ arrival, Loss Prevention had already made contact with the female, identified as Amanda Simpson, and was in the process of trespassing her from the property.  Simpson stole $50.23 worth of items from Wal-Mart.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Theft of Under $1000 and was transported to the Scott County Justice Center for booking.
