Trio Charged with Alleged Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

On August 23rd, Officer Tony Jones, with the Oneida Police Department, was dispatched to a call of possible drug activity behind Murphy’s Gas Station on Alberta Street.  Upon arrival, Officer Jones spoke with Steven Green and Shayleah Sexton, while they were sitting on a Ford Fusion belonging to Robert Smith.  Upon asking for consent to search the vehicle, consent was given.  Both Smith and Green each gave up an unloaded syringe.  Upon searching the vehicle, Officer Jones located in the back passenger side a small black tactical looking bag with 3 tourniquets, 2 unloaded syringes, and a small baggy with a crystalline substance.  Officer Jones asked the trio involved multiple times who the paraphernalia belonged to and did not get an answer.  Smith, Green, and Sexton were taken into custody and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x3).  They were transported to the Scott County Justice Center for booking.
