In August 8th, Officer Aaron Johnson, with the Oneida Police Department, initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle due to no visual auto tag. Upon speaking with driver, identified as Adara Rosser, and passenger, identified as Tracey Cox, Cox stated he had the truck for a little over a week and was buying it from a buddy so he could pull the motor out of it. Upon speaking with Rosser, she stated that she had been driving because she was the only one with a valid driver’s license. Officer Johnson asked for consent to search the vehicle and Cox stated it was his and gave consent to the search because there was nothing in it. Upon searching the vehicle, Officer Johnson observed two flat head screw drivers hid under the console and the ignition of the vehicle had been busted out. Officer Johnson ran a VIN check on the vehicle and it came back reported stolen out of Jamestown, Tennessee. Both Rosser and Cox were arrested and charged with Theft of Property and transported to the Scott County Justice Center for booking.
