On June 22nd, Officer Tyler Johnson with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call on Mudd Street of a group of individuals that were in a field next to a vehicle shining a flashlight. Upon arrival, Officer Johnson spoke with Jason Francis who was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle that was stuck in a mud hole in the field. Francis was attempting to get it out and go to a cabin in the woods. Officer Johnson asked him if there were any illegal narcotics in the vehicle and Francis stated no. He was asked if he minded emptying his pockets and he stated no and that he had nothing to hide. Francis kept blading away from Officer Johnson multiple times with his hand in his right pocket in attempt to the methamphetamine found in the his right watch pocket of his pants. Francis was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Drug.
