Persons diagnosed with cancer often have to travel out-of-town for treatments. Sometimes, they don’t have the financial means or ability to drive to these appointments. Scott County provides transportation to these residents at no cost; however, the program currently needs your help.
Scott County’s Cancer Treatment Transportation Program is searching for kind and caring individuals who can volunteer their time and talent to drive its cancer van. There are no special license or insurance requirements; you simply need a little extra time and a willingness to share it. Drive as often or as little as you like. If you would like to volunteer and help one of your neighbors, call the Scott County Mayor’s Office today, (423) 663-2000—you’ll be glad you did.
