Helenwood Man Charged with Alleged Domestic Assault

On April 24th, Officer Gordon Byrd with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a residence on New River Lane for a report of an argument between family members.  Upon arrival, Officer Byrd spoke with Ronald Mills and Tonya Mills, father and sister of Jeff Mills.  Both stated that Jeff had been high on pills for the last few weeks and he had threatened to kill everyone there if they tried to make him leave the property.  They also stated that he had shot the house with a pellet rifle and cut the wires and tore the back off of the clothes dryer.  A neighbor heard the fighting and has given a statement.  Jeff Mills was placed into custody and charged with Domestic Assault (simple) and Vandalism of $500-$1000.  He was transported to the Scott County Justice Center for booking.
