On Wednesday, February 20th, Oneida Police Department dispatch received a call from Walmart Lost Prevention that a male wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans was allegedly trying to steal some items from Walmart. K9 Officer Toby Jeffers and other officers went en route to Walmart. Before arriving, dispatch received another call from Walmart stating the male took off running out of the front of the store. Officer Jeffers located the male wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans, later indentified as Justin A. Hodge walking through the parking lot of Lee’s Chicken, whereupon Officer Jeffers stepped out of his vehicle and spoke with him. Hodge admitted to trying to steal the items and stated that he just needed some clothes. Hodge had previously been allegedly trespassed from Walmart in the past. He was placed under arrest on charges of theft under $1000 and criminal trespass and was transported to the Scott County Justice Center for booking.
