Oneida, TN (2018-09-10) A Helenwood man that reportedly admitted to smoking meth a few days before being stopped by the cops has been charged with DUI.
Jay Chambers, Jr., 29, of Helenwood was arrested over the weekend after a concerned citizen reported to authorities he appeared to under the influence of something as he left a mid-county grocery store. According to an arrest warrant written by Patrolman Chad Jones of the Oneida Police Department, Chambers was arrested outside the High Point Service Center in Oneida.
Authorities say that Chambers had difficulty talking and failed a series of field sobriety tests. While not admitting to taking anything recent, Chambers reportedly told authorities “he had smoked some meth (a) couple of days ago”.
Chambers was charged with DUI.
