Oneida, TN (2018-08-09)  Join a park ranger from the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area for a special Reading Ranger story time program during the 26th annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival. Earn points towards your 2018 GO Big Challenge patch and meet us at 10:30 a.m. (ET) at the Bandy Creek fields on Saturday, September 15.  This month’s theme will be about the art of storytelling, and afterwards there will be a fun kid’s activity.

After the Reading Ranger program, enjoy the rest of the Storytelling Festival.  There will be storytellers performing fun family stories, as well as music, crafts and much more throughout the day before the Haunting in the Hills event at 8 p.m.

The GO Big 2018 Challenge is a year-long, park-wide event designed to motivate visitors to go out and explore their park.  Participants will earn points by answering questions about the park, becoming a volunteer, taking part in National Park Service programs and events as well as hiking, biking or paddling in the Big South Fork NRRA.  If you earn 100 points, you will receive a GO Big 2018 Challenge patch, and awards will be given at the GO Big 2018 celebration on December 8.  Download your GO Big booklet at https://www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/go-big-2018-challenge.htm.
