Oneida, TN (2018-08-05) Did you know 2018 is the 50th anniversary of the National Trails Act? Join Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area as we celebrate with a healthy hike along the Burnt Mill Bridge Loop Trail on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. (ET). Meet a ranger at Burnt Mill Bridge parking lot off Mountain View Road for a moderate 4.3 mile hike which passes through rock shelters, along ridgelines, and offers wonderful views of the Clear Fork River. Bring water, snacks, and lunch, and wear appropriate clothing for a safe and comfortable adventure.
The GO Big 2018 Challenge is a year-long, park-wide event designed to help all visitors enrich their Big South Fork experience. Participants will earn points by answering questions about the nature and history of the park that will require exploration in search of site-specific information. Points will also be given for each mile hiked, biked, paddled, or equestrian-ridden, so you can get started today!
