We will meet at Blue Heron boat ramp for a 5 mile, half day float to the Yamacraw Bridge.  Blue Heron is at the end of Kentucky route 742.  Expect class I and II rapids on this stretch of water.  Equipment and shuttles are not provided; however, Sheltowee Trace Outfitters is a permitted outfitter with the National Park Service and can provide both.  Bring water, snacks, lunch, sun screen, and wear boating shoes or tennis shoes.  No flip flops are allowed.  Participants are strongly encouraged not to bring valuables due to the strong possibility that you may get wet!

The GO Big 2018 Challenge is a year-long park-wide event designed to motivate visitors to go out and explore their park.  Participants will earn points by answering questions about the park, becoming a volunteer, taking part in National Park Service programs and events as well as hiking, biking or paddling in the Big South Fork NRRA.  If you earn 100 points, you will receive a GO BIG 2018 Challenge patch, and awards will be given at the GO BIG 2018 celebration on December 8.  Download your GO Big booklet at https://www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/go-big-2017-challenge.htm.
