Oneida, TN (2018-04-16) An Oneida man is facing rape charges following an investigation by the Oneida Police Department. Authorities say the victim was 10 years old.
Troy D. Blevins, 46, of Oneida was booked into the Scott County Jail last week following an investigation by the Oneida Police Department into an allegation that he inappropriately touched his then girlfriend’s daughter. According to an arrest warrant filed by Investigator Dustin Burke, Blevins is accused of entering the victim’s bedroom last October and placing his hand in her underwear. The victim told authorities that she awoke to feel Blevins inappropriately touching her. She said she immediately rolled over and Blevins left the room. Later, the victim said Blevins offered her money to keep quiet.
The alleged crime went unreported until earlier this month, when the victim’s grandmother brought her to the police station. Burke attempted to locate Blevins but wasn’t immediately able to find him. When authorities turned to Facebook for help locating him, Blevins, who may have known he was wanted in connection with the alleged crime and was hiding from authorities, turned himself in.
Blevins was charged with one count of rape of a child. Blevins is being held in the Scott County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
