Huntsville, TN (2018-03-07) A Winona man and his son are both facing charges following a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Jonathan L. Sexton, Sr., 43, and his son, Jonathan L. Sexton, Jr., 21, both of Huntsville were booked into the Scott County Jail Tuesday afternoon after the cops stopped the younger Sexton on an outstanding warrant. According to an arrest warrant filed by Deputy Joseph Byrge of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the elder Sexton allegedly had a loaded syringe in his pocket and meth tucked away in his shoe.
Byrge reportedly stopped the younger Sexton on suspicion of an outstanding warrant for violation of probation. Authorities say Sexton was also driving without a license, as his driving privileges had been suspended for not appearing in court in July 2017.
The elder Sexton was reportedly a passenger in the car. Authorities say the elder Sexton admitted to having a ‘rig’ in his pocket and handed over a loaded syringe. He also reportedly had a small bag of methamphetamine in his shoe.
Sexton, Sr. was jailed on charges of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and violation of probation. Sexton, Jr. was booked on charges of driving on suspended license and violation of probation.
