Wartburg, TN (2018-02-11) The Obed Wild and Scenic River announces a ranger talk on the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Visitors will learn about the origins of the act from its inception in 1968 to the current day and how the act has affected recreational enthusiasts, local industries, wildlife, and vacation travelers over the past five decades. Visitors will also hear information about the people who were important to the founding of the Obed Wild and Scenic River.
No reservations are required for this free program, which will begin at 1 p.m. (ET) at the Obed WSR Visitor Center, located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg. The program should conclude by 2 p.m.
