James Edward Taylor, age 87, of Helenwood, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Beech Tree Manor Nursing Home in Jellico, Tennessee.
Born September 7, 1930 he was the son of Joe E. and Beatrice Williams Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Taylor and daughter Nola Jean Taylor, brothers Paul C. Taylor and William “Bill” Taylor, and a sister Joyce Trammell. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Peters Taylor; son Paul Clifton Taylor and wife Tammy of Helenwood; grandsons, J.P Taylor of Helenwood, and Chris Taylor of Cookeville; granddaughter Keisha Taylor Newport and husband Gerard of Murfreesboro; great-granddaughters Alexis and Brooklyn Newport; daughter-in-law Barbara Taylor of Winfield; and special friend Johnny Pyle of Spring Hill, Florida.
Friends may visit with the Taylor family on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
