Oneida, TN (2017-12-04) Four persons are facing theft, drug, and other charges following an attempt to shoplift goods from the local Wal-Mart SuperCenter.
Russell G. Clark, 39, and Jean R. Morgan, 39, both of Bronston, KY, and Jason Phelps, 45, and Amber N. Rehg, 18, both of Somerset, KY, were booked into the Scott County Jail Saturday night after authorities say they took several items from the Oneida Wal-Mart SuperCenter, including a pair of compound bows, arrows, and knives, along with the clothes on their backs.
According to Agent Bill Miller of the Oneida Police Department, the vehicle the four were traveling
in also contained drugs and drug paraphernalia. Authorities reportedly recovered 20 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle, along with several syringes, two sets of digital scales, plastic baggies typically used in the resale of drugs, and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.
Loss prevention employees at the store alerted authorities, after at least two of the suspects walked out of the store wearing stolen clothing. The store valued all the stolen merchandise at nearly $850.
Clark, Phelps and Rehg were charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance (meth) for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of the drug free school zone. Phelps and Rehg were also charged with theft of more than $1,000. Authorities also charged Rehg with giving false information to an officer.
Morgan was charged with being a fugitive from justice, as she had active warrants for her arrest in Kentucky.
