Wartburg, TN (2017-11-11) The Obed Wild and Scenic River will be having a ranger-led healthy hike along the Nemo section of the Cumberland Trail on Friday, November 17, 2017. The 2.5-mile hike will traverse a little-used section of the park. Participants will get a chance to view a scenic confluence of the Obed and Emory Rivers as well as several different sandstone boulders in the park. This free hike will begin at 11:00 a.m. (ET) at the Nemo Day-Use Area parking lot, located just off of Catoosa Road in Morgan County, and should last until 1 p.m. No reservations are required. Participants are advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes and to dress accordingly for the weather.
