Virginia Ann Washam Day age 73, of the Straight Fork Community, departed this life on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her home. She was born February 27, 1944 in Campbell County, Tennessee, to the late Earl Washam and Flossie Wright Washam. She was a member of the Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olin “O.D.” Day; brothers: PFC Denny Washam and Bobby Washam; sisters: Helen McGhee, Lois Bullock, Deen Phillips and Wanda Williams.
She is survived by her children, Terry Day and wife Shawn, Shelda Lowe and husband Tony, Roger Day and wife Bree, Kathy Dixon and husband Tim and James Day; (12) grandchildren: Willie and Ashley Dixon, Tyler Day, Connor Byrd, Morgan Byrd Jordan Day, Bethany Day, Adam Day, Emily Kennedy, Hailee Day, Natalya Flaming and Kimber Day; brothers: Woody Washam and wife Deborah, Sonny Washam and wife Beverly, Teddy Washam; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Mill Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Tony Lowe officiating. Music will be provided by Old Gum Fork Baptist Church Choir. Burial will follow in the Mill Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willie Dixon, Connor Byrd, Jerry Dixon, Tyler Day, Matthew Hutson and Erian Washam.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jordan and Adam Day.
