Amanda Madge Mayse, age 85 of Oneida, TN, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 14, 2017 , at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN, surrounded by her loving family . She was born December 12, 1931 to Artie Lawrence Abbot and Mary Elizabeth Chambers Abbott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved son Jimmy Mayse, brother Junior Burl Abbott, sisters; Selma Abbott Barnes, Rosella Patterson; infant brother and sister; James Abbott and Christine Abbott; brother- in- law; Charlie Christie; sister- in- law Audrey Abbott.
She is survived by her soul mate and companion Claude Sexton; brother: Acmon Abbott and wife Esther; sister: Loraine Coffey and husband James; children: Phyllis Terry and husband Lonas , Mary Jeffers and husband Paul, Diane Anderson and husband Russell, John Mayse and wife Sue; grandchildren; Alison Byrge and husband Wes, Jamie Mayse, Danielle Phillips, Misty West, Lorie Steakley and husband ‘Peanut’, Jason Mayse and wife April, Stacy Dishner and husband Jaron, Mary Keeton and husband Shane, Jonathan Jeffers and wife Jessica; great grandchildren: Taylor Oakes and husband Logan, Trinity Jeffers, Darcie Phillips, Austin West, Gabe West, Brooklyn Dishner, Reid Dishner, Audrie Frogge, Kinley Frogge, Dalton Ellis, Hannah Steakley, Shea Steakley, Colton Mayse Steakley, Chloe Mayse Brown. She was also survived by special people, the Sexton Family and many other family and friends.
She was a loving companion, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to carring for her family. She loved her flowers and riding the rhino with Claude and Family. Anyone who knew her loved her and knew what a kind hearted and caring person she was. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed. She was the root of our family.
The Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, July 16 from 3:00 P.M. until time of funeral service at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with Bro. Wayne King officiating. Singing will be Daniel Murley.
Burial will follow in the John Freeman Sexton Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
