Wartburg, TN (2017-05-14) Get out and explore YOUR Obed Wild and Scenic River! In celebration of the third annual Tennessee Mountain Laurel Festival in Wartburg, Obed Wild and Scenic River will be conducting a healthy hike along the Point Trail on Saturday, May 20, at 10:00 a.m. (ET). This 3.8 mile moderate to strenuous hike is nestled deep within the hush of the hemlock forest canopy that will boast the bountiful beauty of the white and pink blooms of mountain laurel.
Participants should meet at the Lily Overlook parking area. The parking area is located just after crossing the Lilly Bridge on Ridge Road in Morgan County, Tennessee. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes or boots and bring water, snacks and bug spray. Participants should expect to spend 3-4 hours for this hike.
