Five Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stops

Oneida, TN (2017-04-18) Five persons were arrested last week on drug related charges following traffic stops by the Oneida Police Department.

Scottie R. Piercy, 35, of Monticello, KY was booked into the Scott County Jail on April 11, 2017 following a traffic stop in North Oneida.  Piercy was reportedly a passenger in a car that was pulled over for driving 15 m.p.h. under the speed limit and weaving.  After the stop, authorities allegedly found two bags of marijuana in Piercy’s wallet.  He was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance for resale.

Terry A. Barnes, 24, of Huntsville was charged with possession of meth following a traffic stop near Wal-Mart on April 14, 2017.  Barnes was allegedly in possession of a small quantity of the illicit drug when he was stopped on a seat belt violation.

Samantha K. Alexander, 27, of Pine Knot, KY was arrested on April 15, 2017 following a traffic stop in North Oneida.  Alexander was a backseat passenger in a vehicle stopped for a window tint violation.  Authorities say she had 1.1 grams of marijuana, along with a piece of a Xanax bar in her pocket.  Alexander was charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and simple possession of marijuana.

Brandon M. King, 37, of Helenwood was booked on possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on April 15, 2017.  King was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on the four-lane in Oneida, which authorities say smelled of marijuana.  When asked about illegal substances in the car , King allegedly handed authorities a bag of marijuana from the floorboard.  Later, authorities claim they found a marijuana grinder and another bag of marijuana in his underwear.  A marijuana pipe was also recovered from the center console.

Alisa R. Yancey, 19, of Parkers Lake, KY was arrested on drug and traffic violations following a stop on April 16, 2017.  Authorities say Yancey had six Oxycodone pills in her purse, along with two marijuana pipes and a container containing marijuana seeds.  She was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone), possession of a schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of the registration law.
