Raging Massey Lane Fire Keeps Fire Departments Busy Over Weekend

Pioneer, TN (2015-10-26) A four-alarm fire on Massey Lane off Ditney Trail kept area firefighters extremely busy over the weekend.  The fire destroyed a house, outbuilding(s), and several vehicles.

A massive fire on Massey Lane late Saturday night kept firefighters from four area fire departments busy for more than 11 hours.  The East 63 Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire on Massey Lane at 10:36 p.m. Saturday night.  When firefighters arrived, they were greeted by a massive fire that included a fully engulfed house, a burning outbuilding and several vehicles on fire.  Firefighters from East 63, Huntsville Fire and Rescue, Paint Rock Volunteer Fire Department, and the Mid-CountyFire Department fought the blaze, which was fueled by stockpiled debris, for more than five hours, clearing the scene at nearly 4:00 a.m.  Three hours later, firefighters were called back to the scene.  The fire reportedly rekindled and ultimately consumed another structure and additional vehicles on the same property.

Firefighters finally cleared the scene around 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
